Tis The New Year...Almost.

Hey everybody!

It's been way too long since our last update so we decided to touch base with everyone before the year comes to a close. As many of you know, the reason for our absence is that we've been hiding out here in L.A. banging out a record to share with the world. If all goes as planned, we will complete it in the coming months so it can hit the stores just before the summer. The good news is the buzz of this city has not permeated our membranes enough to forget you all! That's why we've found some time to play a few special shows to ring in the New Year in our beloved home, Vermont. If you haven't made plans yet for the last three days of 2006 then come to Vermont for our performances at the Higher Ground Ballroom on the 29th, 30th, and 31st of December. The Ballroom has always been one of our favorite venues to play, so we're gonna make it a memorable night, every night (with an extra special champagne toast on N.Y.E. of course!) We have also handpicked some amazing bands to open these shows (Steel Train, Apollo Sunshine and Peter Prince) so the good music will be flowing from the moment you walk in the door. In other news, we're planning on launching a new web feature in which we'll post new live tracks, photos, and videos once or twice a month. This way we will be able to stay in touch with you all by sharing some of our archived material captured by various GPN supporters. We hope to have this launched in late January so keep visting the website.

We know you're all probably busy right now with pre-vacation chaos so we'll bring this holiday newsletter to a close with another installment of "Quotes From The Band":

Bryan - "We all obviously know what EGGs are, but what in Kringle's name is a NOG?! Well I googled it. ...and the results are quite interesting: 'Eggnog literally means eggs inside a small cup. It is used as a toast to ones health. Nog is an old English dialect word (from East Anglia) of obscure origins that was used to describe a kind of strong beer (hence noggin). It is first recorded in the seventeenth century. Eggnog, however, is first mentioned in the early nineteenth century but seems to have been popular on both sides of the Atlantic at that time.' I for one feel better knowing this...you should too. But it still begs the question, what the flip is a YULE?!"

New Years Eve at the Higher Ground

The band is currently recording their major debut and will be returning home for three very special shows at the Higher Ground Ballroom in Burlington, Vermont on December 29,30, and 31. These will be their only shows until the spring when they commence their record release tour.
