The Nocs are doing a fantastic job moving tickets for this show August 20th.
Check out sales on the interactive seating chart for this 5,000 capacity venue, one of their biggest headline shows yet. Actually, maybe the biggest:

Now check out Flaming Lips three weeks earlier Jul 27th (albeit a Thursday):

or Peter Frampton Jul 15th, a Friday:

and I would say that they're damn close to Tedeschi Trucks Band a few days earlier!

Interesting. Anyone know the capacity for the "Waterfront Shows?"
Question for the group. Which was the largest headliner show you have attended?

Central Park Summer Stage also has a capacity of 5,000. GPN is headlining a Saturday night there, and as of right now it's the final show of the "summer" (Sept. 24th) for the iconic venue. i do not expect that to change, GPN will close out the 2011 season in Central Park on the first full day of autumn. This one will also definately be sold out by show time, and should be a special one for all on several levels. so congrats to the whole crew on this huge NYC show as well as Boston!
5,000 is a lot for NYC. that is almost double the capacity of the Beacon Theater (2,800), just a short walk thru the park from Summer Stage. so...they can obviously fill that legendary venue as well. i hope they play there next!

Very cool interactive map for Bank of America! Even better is to see how few seats are left with a month + to go!
This has been some kinda ride the Noc's these past 9 months, and it's only getting better - love to see the successes this hard working group is achieving, show by show, festival by festival, and more media exposure via television looks to be popping up in July with the Ce-Lo show and a return to Late Night with Jay Leno!
Couldn't be happier for such a deserving, hard working group. Can't wait for my live fix in just a few days!

They headlined the Waterfront shows but that was still technically a festival. The biggest place I have ever seen them officially headline was the show in Vail Colorado this past April (but it was free). tough to estimate a # of attendees maybe 2-3K, but i could be off by a lot. everyone was there specifically for GPN.

Hmmm..depends on if you count people in boats....Actually, I was leaving festivals out of the equation, but really meaning seated venues. Quite sure this is the largest to date.
And as far as the 2nd question, I'm pretty sure I was at the largest to date. Let me re-phrase that. I am sure I was at what I think was the largest headline venue to date. House of Blues Boston, capacity 2,425 SOLD OUT !

Hey Eric, Was at the Terminal 5 show in NYC and it was a packed house. How many peeps can we put in that place. (Can't remember if that was a sold out show or not.)

Terminal 5 is a rough venue, hopefully GPN is done there. it holds 3,000 so apples to apples the CP Summerstage is quite a jump from anywhere they've played so far in NYC. not sure if that one was sold out (i was not there) but the amount of people at the Vail outdoor show could easilly fill that place.
but it's standing room only, so for seated events it would likely be just as TH1 said, House of Blues in Boston and now the Bank of America Pavillion show will top that.
but I always thought Grace prefers to play standing room venues so im not sure leaving all of those out of the equation is the best way to assess the places they have previously played. moving forward though, at this point there will be more seated venues than in the past, maybe half and half...Bank of America Pav is seated, Central Park is not. they both hold 5,000 and both are in mega-huge cities. both are weekend shows. both will be sold out, and both will be epic. not 2 shabby.
next summer i expect the Nox to headline Red Rox. it holds 9,000 (best of both worlds if it's set up for "seated ga" but buy tix for that one immediately in case it's reserved). Denver is a unique place though, as is Red Rox. places like Great Woods and Jones Beach...in this economy right now people just tend to skip those shows. would much rather see them 2-3 nights in a smaller venue. certain bands just find a way to play small venues no matter how big they are. for most of their run the Black Crowes avoided arenas and stadiums, and just look at the Allman Brothers! 10 nights at the Beacon please, Grace!

Was just at CP Summerstage for The Script a few weeks ago. There were some bleacher type stands at the back. It was very small but standing room is tough when you are short! Best viewing I had of GPN was at Irving Plaza, you can pay extra for skip the line tix, which we did and we were front row directly in front of Scott. Totally awesome!
