Anyone like me who is addicted to downloading grace live shows on archive.org and already knows the words to all 13 songs on the new album? what are your favorites? i think if i had to pick just one i would go with one short night. especially after reading the story behind it in the relix article.

Hey mt - Medicine is still probably the most fun, along with Hot Summer Night. Love the guitars on Oasis. These impressions are based on live shows I've been lucky enough to get to in these past months - not sure how these play out on the CD just yet - I have a feeling they will be a little different than live based on the snippets I've heard. Tiny Light seems much slower than I recal hearing live for instance.

yeah i agree! i am very excited to see how the album compares to the live show. I agree with you on those other songs. Medince I think could be the song that makes GPN a household name. There is just something about it to me that screams hit record! dont you think?

Gosh, I think I would have to go with Goodbye Kiss. That seems to be what I am relating to right now. But love Oasis and Colours too. The ones that seem to have meaning behind the lyrics are the ones I tend to love.

That Phone
it is a song people will love or hate (just like the album i'm guessing) and i am a lover.
it is also a perfect ringtone.
after this tune there are 6 or 7 in the running for 2nd best imho.
easily the best GPN record from start to finish.
and anyone who claims they can't hear the guitars or bass is a buffoon...

that made my day
for down tempo songs - Low Road slays me every time
up tempo - That Phone

I kept singing Goodbye Kiss (what I could remember of the lyrics) this weekend. it just stuck with me - now to get those lyrics up and saved so I can remember them.
not sure which will be my favorite, but Goodbye Kiss surprised me by being quite the earworm.

Tough....
No absolute winner, they are different and my favorites strike a different chord within me....
"Medicine" .... for a great rock beat that makes me want to dance
"Colors" ... just because it makes me feel so good and at peace!
Hell... I like them all some...
Oasis for me is the truth....love it
Medicine I dig too, in the show open slot its just right.......
just my .02

Ok, so now that I have listened to the new CD twice, I have to say that Colours is my favorite slow song, and One Short Night is really growing on me.

funny - I can relate to that. That Phone is not a favorite nor is Money - and mainly I guess it's the kind of throwaway lyrics and that "radio" sound that turns me off. This morning That Phone came on, and I kind of realized that even though the words still don't do anything for me, the delivery is a little like a Sharon Jones tune, and I like Sharon Jones - funny, now the damn song is stuck in my head . . .

I get what you are saying Jan. It will never be a favorite but I wont skip through it. Its basically a teach that boy a lesson or two song.

When I first got into this band I lived on Archive.org. It was an absolute goldmine. My iTunes library is loaded with their live shows.
I think Oasis, One Short Night, and Only Love are the three best tracks on the record. I've more or less wore this cd out. I still love the Original Soul days too. That record will never get old to me.
