Hey all,
For any of you lucky enough to go the Ellsworth ME show, I really encourage you to check out the opening act, Hot day at the Zoo. They are my very close friends and I am so sad that my two worlds are colliding and I can't be there. Although they are a completely different animal than GPN, I dare you not to dance!!! They are a fantastic, high energy, talented string band from Lowell MA http://www.hotdayatthezoo.com.. mostly all originals and a slew of great covers. You will not be dissappointed and you will want more!!
Enjoy!!!

I hadn't even looked for info on the opening act yet . . I'll check out your link. Thanks !

Just a heads up to anyone going to the show tonight. I picked up my tickets this morning and did a little reconnaissance. This is a general admission show. There is theater seating with an open area down in front of the stage. Doors open at 7:30 pm - was advised to show up at 7 to assure desired seating. Hot Day at the Zoo will start at 8PM, GPN will start ~ 9:15. The person at the Grand who I talked to said that the promoter told her that the show should go until 11pm, so it sounds like it will be a full GPN bash.
For you veteran GPN fans, this is probably SOP, but as a relative neophyte I was excited to get some "inside" info for you all.
Is it 7 o'clock yet? ;-) See you there!

Notes:
No Cat tonight (she's in Alaska hunting wolverines) - John Rogone filled in and didn't miss a note all night.
Benny was out of his mind tonight - never seen him that "out front" before.
Another hot & sticky Maine show.
Hot Day at the Zoo was tight too. I think Hendrix would have approved of the cover.
