Capacity only 400. GPN has played Seattle or the area quite a few times recently.

the shows page always reflects the status of shows. if it's sold out, it would be posted there.

i have to side with Debby on this one, it is far from crystal clear on the shows page. and also non existent on Ticketmaster/Live Nation.

here is the link to buy tix-

http://thecrocodile.com/index.html?page=calendar&event=5617522

the place does look small so dont wait to long, especially since this DIVAS thing airs tommorow. also hoping u might make the Vancouver GPN show??? the only date in Canada so far. and any place that names their venue "venue" has to be epic. might be mandatory Debby.

guess I'll even the "match" and side with Nate :D
reasons being:

tickets don't always go on sale as soon as the show is listed .. suspect that may be the venue's call
some shows are Not available as presales .. guessing that's also a venue's perogative to keep sales 'in house'
and thankfully not all shows - especially small venues - are listed with Ticketmaster/Live Nation .. personally would be happy if none were
the info on the Shows page (http://www.gracepotter.com/shows/) is the official status . . as we learned a while back , info found other places is not always accurate

well he even had KC telling her it was sold out, and the "BUY TIX" link brings u to a pre sale for several other shows, but not Seattle. u click on the venue link and then u first have to click on "shows" there and click thru 2 calendar pages to find it.

and yes ticketmaster sux. just sayin i checked there before the venue, since there was no real link to buy tix on the GPN shows page for Seattle. just a link to a bunch of other shows

there is also confusion on Facebook as to if this show is sold out or not, and people as far back as this past thursday are saying that in fact it is sold out. it looked to me like u could buy tix at the link below but im not going to buy tix to a show in Seatle just to find out. Also appears Nate is saying it isnt sold out but at this point i have no idea. If tix are available the band should post it on the FB page, as people are posting on the Event Wall for that show that its sold out

I did not say it was sold out. I said it was a small venue and GPN had played in the area many times recently which might tend to make it a "popular" ticket to get.

i did not mean to jump to any conclusions KC, i apologize. i guess I interpreted that post as a comfirmation that it was, and an explination why, it was sold out.

and again, if its not, there are fans in Seattle that think otherwise. It might be their own fault but that is the case (and they are sharing this "sell out" info on social networks) so i was really trying to look out for both the band and the fans, thats all.

And 2FN and I have agreed to dissagree on this after several long winded PMs that we chose to spare the rest of u from. you're welcome.

yes i stand corrected on the canada thing, there is a show in toronto as well (is that tonight???)

ok time to watch VH1, enuff of this nonesense. t minus 1.25 hours

.
I have to add this thought . . .

If anyone has a question on the status of tickets for Any show . . why not simply call the venue ?

nate

not sure why this is so confusing

1. show is booked
2. show is announced
3. show goes to music today presale (or not)
4. music today presale ends (if any) and public onsale begins
5. you buy tickets
6. you enjoy kickass band

so yes, when the music today presale ends the show will disappear from their page and until the ticketing link is updated it won't direct to the venue ticket sale. and no this isn't automated. if a music today presale ends midnight on a friday (like this one did), chances are it won't get updated until monday.

i hope this all makes sense now if it didn't before.

Just go 2 tickets to show from the venue site online sales, no problem, no sold out indication.

If a show with such a small venue doesn't sell out it's a big mystery of life. I really can't complain about too much, after 2-3 weeks of education about GPN I still feel embarassed, how is it possible when they were all around me and for a long time that I DIDN'T know, guess maybe I wasn't ready, maybe if I known earlier I might have not recognized their greatness, sometimes you get saved from yourself.

It is NOW, good to see fans out here are holding up their end for a sold out tour, even though it's one of the smaller venus, maybe the next time here they will play Paramount Northwest, OMG GPN blowing the lid off such a beautiful place as it is now. Could rank up there with the "Live in Seattle 2003" (or 2001?) album that Heart did there. What a fantastic venue!

Trying to think what the band members and their crew must be doing now, less than a week for the tour start, I'd be jumping out of my skin, what with all that's happened the past 4-6 weeks. But, it might also be good to get out on the road and just concentrate on the shows for awhile and away from all the stuff that must be going on now. Their show schedule might be alittle buffer to relax or decompress some(ha!), been pretty intense for a few weeks. T-19 here

Hope no one is reporting Boston as sold out on FB 'cause it isn't . . .

GPN Shows page (http://www.gracepotter.com/shows) .... Boston "Presale Sold Out " ... HOB website (http://www.houseofblues.com/tickets/searchresults.php?venue=boston) shows tickets going on sale to the public today 1/8

I got caught by that before too . . just a thought but maybe wording should be " Presale has ended"

seems a RED sold out does mean no more tickets available

a pre-sale is sold out when there are no more tickets available before the pre-sale is finished. pre-sale ended just means the pre-sale period is over and the public onsale is beginning.

After Thursday night I can now say I've seen Grace and the guys live. Saw the real deal in the flesh, kinda surreal for me after just happening to notice them by chance on the VH1 show and following them since on the net and on their tour for the past two weeks.

The show blew my mind, and also my ears, maybe I've got old ears(64) or can't take loud sound levels like some, but the sound level of the total show did effect some of what I heard. Seemed to me it was more like being in the front rows of a stadium rock show than at a small (80' x 160' at best) venue, taked to a few others that also said it was way up for them too.

After Chamberlins' set, which was good and I liked the lead singers' voice and their playing, and the venue music between set changes the incredible sound level for both had my ears "buzzed" (maybe a temporay tinnitus) I was about 20' back on Cat and Bennys' side and somewhat below the speaker array focal point, was good spot for viewing but maybe not so for ears. Damm you hate to give up a good spot so I didn't move, was too crowded to move anyway.

Back to the show. The guys and Grace came on and busted out Ah'Mary with some real force and then broke into Oasis and played it into an extended jam that seemed to go on forever with Grace doing some amazing vocals, it loosened the lid on the old Croc big time, it was awesome but loud as hell. Won't cover every song, by the time they got to the acoustic set I had to move to the back of the room, this didn't make much difference but helped a little.

They came back with the song I really wanted to hear....2:22, OMG unreal, becoming monumental for me, just as good as the Burlington 2011 Hang Over Show version and the GF'dBaby video of. Just this song was worth everything or cost one had to do to be here! Here is a song that can't be too loud, it was almost too much for some...a guy that must have weighed close to 300#s began dancing and gyrating around knocking people around like ten pins, finally someone told him to cool it alittle, it was still so great, too much.

Would it be fantastic to have them do 2:22 on Letterman...........OMG

what are you going to do for us tonight Grace?......well Dave we want to do a ballad 2:22.......what are you frickin kidding me a ballad, hell we don't want to put everyone asleep,..... 2:22 is that the songs' name or how long the song is?...you better stretch it out alittle and better up tempo it alittle if you do......ok Dave..(about 6 mins into the song Dave is rushing on to the stage) whoa, whoa, whoa..stop, stop that right now....WTH do you people think you're doing, that's no frickin ballad...jeeze WTH do you think you're doing the FCC could pull our license if I let you go to where I think you were headed......MG man get a grip......sorry Dave we just wanted to do the song we think it's the best thing we've ever done to show people we can bring it,......well ok but you can't do something like that on network TV ok...... ok. ok we'll make it up to you Dave...we'll do a great golden oldie ok........ok. ok I like good golden oldies...that's good do that....Ok guys strike up " Piss On Your Hand " !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall it was a great first exposure live to the band, alot of extend jams on the songs you want them on. Will have to learn how to protect my ears for the fantastic future shows to come.

Thanks for the review Doc! We are going to see GPN for the first time next month in Atlanta and am really looking forward to it. I too am hoping that "2:22" will be on the playlist as it is one of my favorites. I am really partial to blues/rock stuff like that, "Sugar" & "Watching You", guess it harbors back to my ABB, Zep favorites.
When I saw the set list for Seattle I was hoping that someone would be there taping, let me know if y'all find it. There is a great video from that show although the audio is oversaturated, still great stuff.
I remember that I use to tell folks "if it too loud then you are too old", well that ain't the case anymore as I'll probably be wearing ear plugs!!

Again thanks for the review and add me to the petition for "2:22 on a Late Night Talk Show"

The last time I saw GPN when they supported Sharon Jones, I thought it was too loud too. They just use the house PA don't they?

I have tinnitus (show me any rock fan over 50 that doesn't) so I always wear ear protection. I have real good plugs, but miss hearing the shows "naked" and invariably can not resist taking them out for a song or two. Stupid me.

Ipods will cause an epidemic of tinnitus in the future.

yep, on the earplug plan myself now. Admittedly half deaf at my age, makes sense to protect what's left. Plus it seems it's always easiest to snake to the front of the crowd by taking the outside route at the base of the speakers and shuffling in from there. Gets pretty loud there, but I avoid having to strain to see over that one tall guy always front and center. ;)
Charles is flashing the poster boy for tinnitus as his avatar.

You know, Pete blames keeping his headphones on too loud for his problems, not the loud shows. Of course there was that dynamite incident on the Smothers Brothers that surely caused ome damage too.
