i cant believe the tix to this show are only $25. and its on a Friday. i think back in May when they played there Grace held up a sign that is was only 10 or maybe 20 with a red sox ticket stub. House of Blues Boston keepin it real! i bet they add one or 2 more nights at the HOB Boston if this one sells out quick. better hurry Boston posse...show em the luv and get your tix now, before GPN books a show somewhere else that weekend! thanks for the heads up sgn
just for the record also that show there back in May was epicness

good shit James.
who is familliar with the HOB Boston? it says $25 for GA/standing room and $39.50 for reserved/seats what is the deal thanx
edit:
i didnt realize this was on live nation so when i clicked thru i saw the seating chart. looks like the GA tix are on the floor in front of the stage and then there are a couple mezzanine/balcony levels.
if they add a second show im all in for the weekend. "one short night" in Boston im still on the fence for (on the fence with a tic in my hand, of course)

I never got that either. Those reserved seats on the second floor are the worst in the house unless you happen to get lucky and stand against the rail. Otherwise you can't see anything. I suggest walking in with a good glow also. Otherwise the $11.00 drinks and beers make it kinda tough on the wallet.

Vekin -
that's some vital "need to know" info there about the bar pricing. Yikes!
Seating suits one of our attending group, and found the price was the same as GA when purchasing two Mezz seats.

Eric – I definitely recommend going to the House of Blues! The three shows I’ve seen there have all been incredible (Derek Trucks - 4/2/09, GPN – 11/19/09 & 5/28/10)
thanks for the pep talk Heath, sounds like an epic HOB run. i am with u brother, i DLed the 5-28-10 GPN show and it is too hot 4 the hot tub!
Vekin thanks for the heads up also. $11 beers at a rock show is high even for NY. (i guess those Red Sox gotta keep up with the Yankees somehow? ;) the "luxury tax" aka $11 beers across the street (and they are probably $14 or so at Fenway?)...
anyway i bought a tic thru the "public" onsale. i feel like such a statistic. now add 3-26 Potter so we can "listen 2 u noc' instead" (of going home :))

I am so sad I will miss a home town show, I can barely talk about it.. I am happily working at Snoe.down that weekend and hope I get a Saturday night GPN apprearance up there.. I don't think my heart can handle missing a double header in Boston.
My 2 cents on the reserved seating is, it is good if you are with someone who HAS to sit down.. if you have a bad back or can't stand for long periods of time, it may be worth it, but I get the feeling of being detatched from the show up there..
Drinks are sooo overpriced on the club side and vary from room to room.. the Kitchen bar drink prices are about $4 less than the Club side for the same drinks. When I called the bartender (on the club side) on it in a nice way, he not so nicely told me I could go back to the other side. Douche..

I'm a newbie here, and a newbie to seeing GPN live (just have the Big Lebowski show under my belt). I've been singing GPN's praises to some friends for over a year now and am bringing three GPN virgins to the show. Also burning them a handful of shows to get them acquainted. I know they will love GPN as much as I have been.
Two weeks before GPN plays HoB in Boston, Lucinda Williams is also playing and I'm going to that as well. I've heard the small "Joy" cover embedded in Joey, but would love to see a full-on performance of "Joy", or "Changed The Locks" or just about anything Lucinda has written.
3/25/11 can't come soon enough, as that'll also mean it's the end of winter and Opening Day will be approaching. A very good time of year!

Yes there are! Not sure how far from the Kenmore area you're wanting to go, but one of my favorite bars in the entire world is just down the road a bit, very accesible by the 57 bus, it's called Deep Ellum (http://deepellum-boston.com/). But then again, Lower Depths is just a quick walk away from the HOB and has a great great great beer selection!
I just looked at Deep Ellum's draft list. Awesome German and Belgian selection. I'll be spending some time there before the show! Thanks!

Oh man, if you're in to Belgian beers, you might want to consider this place too, The Publick House (http://eatgoodfooddrinkbetterbeer.com/publickhouse/). And right down the street is American Craft, specializing in well, American craft beer (http://www.eatgoodfooddrinkbetterbeer.com/americancraft/):)
American Craft has Arrogant Bastard on tap! I'm in heaven. This show will be epic if I can just remember to leave the bar in time to catch it :P

From the Ripley's file - GPN virgin reading her horoscope in the paper today while getting ready for first show --
Locate a cheerful oasis far from the desert of drudgery this evening. Socializing at the local watering hole can provoke uplifting interchanges. Cling to those who have an optimistic outlook that might rub off on you.
She just thought the "watering hole" part was funny before I explained the more fantastic "Oasis" reference.

Tremendous shows tonite, by B&L and GPN. Never had heard B&L before, and they kicked some serious ass.
GPN started out a little ragged, IMHO, but they got it cranked up for the last 60-75 minutes and, predictably, blew the doors off the House of Blues. I can't recite the specific setlist, but can say that the following songs were performed:
Toothbrush & My Table
Treat Me Right (acoustic)
Joey
NBTW 1
NBTW 2 (mind-boggingly awesome)
Stop The Bus
Apologies
Mastermind
Big White Gate
Paris (ended regular set)
Medicine (final song)
Tiny Light (killer jam)
Only Love
Money
Low Road
Hot Summer Night
Why Don't You Love Me (blistering)
Crazy On You
As much as I love most of Grace's songs, those two covers (WDYLM & Crazy On You) are just terrific. Terrific doesn't do them justice. They're f*cking awesome. I was with 3 GPN virgins, all between 41 and 49 years old, all lovers of live music and veterans of hundreds of shows each, big & small. They were all blown away and now fully understand why I've been plastering my Facebook wall w/ GPN links for quite some time now.
Here's hoping for the following tomorrow in PVD:
Ah Mary
2:22
Sugar or I'll Be Watching You
That Phone
Sweet Hands
Ain't No Time
Here's To The Meantime
More coherent thoughts in the morning when I recover from that musical assault I was a part of tonite.

Great show and great crowd at HOB!! No grinding or pushing......very respectful group!! Thanks!!
Also met many people who know my picture......all of you were very nice and it was a pleasure!!
Sweet Hands had a GPN virgin with him........his 8-9 yo son!! Was about as tall as the rail, so Keri gave him her spot so he could see.
Pro photogs, including Tim (who I had met last yr) took many pics of this young lad who was wearing his GPN dew rag Hulk Hogan style!!
He couldnt figure out what the fuss was about, but he looked like he thoroughly enjoyed himself!! I'm sure Cat noticed him too....
High light was Benny on the Heart intro......he comes and sits on the monitor right in front of us, and as he usually tries to do, he was thinking of playing some obscure riff that he usually puts in as tease...and he's yelling at us "GIVE ME A RIFF, GIVE ME A RIFF"...no one said a word...not even a "Freebird"!!
Major face melt with B&L!!! Excellent crisp sound! Surprised the place was 3/4 full when they hit the stage, and almost full at set end......crowd was VERY receptive of these guys!!
Other highlights.......helping Cat into her waiting car after sound check.......Van losing his ticket....I'll let him tell you about that one. Getting one of the drum solo sticks from Sam...Thanks Sam!!
And, excellent dinner before with all the peeps!!
OK, now its on to round two!!

Hi Wally !! I want to thank you and the rest of the Potter Posse for a great night out . Zac could not stop talking about the show and the time he had . I will definately have to get him to another show soon !! I want to thank your daughter Keri and the gentleman w/ his 14 year old son also . Keri for sacrificing her barricade spot for Zac and after the show , the gentleman and his son gave Zac a GPN guitar pick . His face lit up and he has not had it from eyesight since !! =) I wish we could have made it again tonight to RI , but funds are stretched thin because I'm trying to pay for a wedding .
I wanted to help your daughter also with her coaster promotion also . Have her send me a flyer or business card when available and I'll print out some copies and hang them up where ever possible .
I just uploaded some pics to Facebook . If you'd like to see them , look me up under Mike Avery .
Have a great time tonight and hope to talk to you all again soon !!
Take care ,

Quick impressions -
crowd packed and ready for both bands, not just the headliners..... what's up with Van and the lost ticket? we were looking for him! One of our party at front and center on the barricade ended up getting "Vanned" to distraction by the drunk girl behind her until it took words to make it stop.... loved the acoustic Treat Me Right, the Benny alone acoustic moment, & Cat's vocal support on Apologies especially stood out for me tonight ..... and lastly since folks are already mentioning YouTube postings coming, hope somebody captured Benny's limbo moment when he answered the question, "how high do Cat's legs go when she's standing on four-inch heels? ...."

What a high energy show, both bands were on fire. Saw Van, couldn't get to him, he came late and left early, so didn't get to talk. Was accosted by multiple drunks. Got to talk with the legendary Fu, and saw Scott's lovely mother boogieing on the next floor up, didn't get to say hi to her. Had to bail, as friend wasn't feeling well, so didn't get to say "hi" to Posse peeps.
Highlights: Benny nailed the prelude to "Crazy on You" last night. Benny running through Cat's legs while they were both playing. Scott continues to grow and explore as a guitarist.

Hi Mike,
It was my son Jared who gave your son the guitar pick. We need to thank two young people from Andover (I think) who said they saw a pick thrown our way. We looked for it and couldn't find it. Then they left. Jared and I looked some more a little later and found it. So it was a team effort.

Very much enjoyed the show last night. Still a novice at GPN shows, but I think I could get used to this. The energy in this band is unreal - Benny is impossible to keep up with. Especially enjoyed Stop the Bus and Tiny Light was so good last night. And I love the "group drum solo."

Other than the unique NYE Big Lebowski show, these were my first two real GPN shows. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but I can't over-state how great the shows were & how great the band is. 34 songs over 2 nights, and only 7 repeats. And SO many more songs that went unplayed.
