Van, I love that you started this thread even though you did not go to the show. You knew we would all be on the lookout for it and had it all ready to go this morning! You rock, Abby has made you the newest addition to her favorite person list. I cant mention enough how I would have loved to have been up there with everyone. Your reviews, and all the pics, and tapers and now these videos are so great to have, I love the share and careness of this group of people.

animal...thanks for getting the video of golden. Only 15 mins. ago I got off the phone with Abby and was telling her how I would love to see or hear grace doing this song from last night. In fact I have been thinking about it ever since I saw it on the set list this morning. Then I log on here and bam...wish come true! I had never heard the song until kc posted a recording of her doing it a few years ago, in canada maybe?? I played it for my brother who is a big MMJ fan, and he gave me a bunch of their music. Thus, discovering more great music that I now share with my big brother. Thanks for that grace. Anyway, golden is hands down one of the most beautiful songs that I have ever heard. This video is amazing. It may just be a good thing I was not there because I would have cried for sure...it would have been beautiful, sloppy moment. Thanks for sharing!

Golden: Twelve string with pearl inlays, and a “Grace” nametag on the head, this beauty was premiered on Set 1 highlight MMJ’s “Golden”. The audios we have of her 2 prior takes on this are just pale projections of a standout, gem of a song.

Getting spoiled by assuming posts on archive or UTube will perserve these moments and make them quickly and easily accessible. Not always the case unfortunately. Did get to just enjoy the 4th night Crazy.... though, and now it's on to Golden. Nice captures.

This show is a great memory and Golden was a true highlight, I remembering turning around to look at Van after the song was over, we both just went AHHH. the audio on this vid isn't the greatest, if you can believe it, we probably were a little TOO close for the best sound, but if you wish you can catch a glimpse of the magic of this one here.

I'm pretty sure it was an intro to Paris. As I remember it, Grace stepped up with Freebird and the guys & Cat just kinda stood back watching and chuckling to themselves while she did. Only went a few lines before she gave up, claiming to not know the words... :)

That's my recollection as well. Pretty sure they were just kidding about playing it. Wish I had more to share about this wonderful show ... brain is still on overload (in a good but tired way) from 5 nights of great music in VT followed by another late night of local music I couldn't pass up. This show might go down in GPN history as the one we know was amazing but were too burned out to remember clearly ... kind of like the 60's without the drugs. Thanks to all who shared their videos so we have some memories. :)

I have posted my first vids on YouTube! For the 2nd year in a row I traveled up for the NYE show, and for the 2nd year in a row, I had a migraine (must be all that fresh air), but this year with a cold on top of that. No doubt, I would not let that stop me and I would not miss this show. With some help from Tylenol, I joined the group at 9 and managed to get to the front on the very right side of the stage, behind the speaker (had a good view of the soundman). Somehow, this music makes me forget about the headache and every other problem or worry in my life. If I felt better I too would have joined that dance party with Van and Mr. P! Bought a pair of Charlotte Potter earrings, a new GPN sweatshirt in grey, and the last poster for the Fall run (with the moon on it). Managed to get one short vid NYE before running out of battery, and have 5 videos from January 1st, when I felt better and got there early to join the other posse peeps for a shot at a rail spot. I ended up center stage at the rail! So the vids are real close. Apologize for the amateur vid and focusing issues. I did the best I could.
