Man, I love that club. Love to stand right down front, maybe just 6 or 7 feet away from Grace and I can hear her directly...

Grace played a solo accoustic guitar song, dedicated to Jim James, who had to cancel out of a Madison Square Garden New Years Eve gig tonight- but she was still gonna go... I think it was titled "Get Well, Mr James".

The last 2 times I saw her, she did 2:22 with just Scott, but I think this was the first time I have seen her do a solo with no one else on stage

Kind of interesting as the stage layout was reversed, the first time I had seen that. Brian on the left and Grace on the right. This was because she used Assembly of Dust's keyboards...making it an easy load in and out night.

Grace took the stage with a champagne glass, and after first song came to the mic and said "I have this champagne glass because we are celebrating two things tonight. First, New Years Eve...and Second (pause)....last night we signed our record deal!" And a few moments later she said "Some people have called me a drunken floozie. Folks, I just wanna announce, I am not drunken" To a roar of laughter...

{I managed to nab her glass off the stage after the set and spirit it out of the club. Now THAT is a momento- THE champagne glass use to announce a record contract!! }

Too short a night...had a chance to talk with Matt and later Scott about an upcoming opening gig for Derek Trucks Band..they are psyched....so am I
