Webcasts of Festivals (whether GPN is in it or not)

I think it would be cool if this "Other Bands" thread could be used by fans to update forum users when there is going to be a webcast of a festival, with any details or a link if possible.

What do you think? Maybe there is already one website that does this function, if so, please post it. I would even update/ edit this first post with upcoming webcast info.

I will try to keep this updated and appreciate any help! If GPN is scheduled I will add that once we know.

Charles, I really like your suggestion of a thread dedicated to sharing information for webcasts, broadcasts, audio streams . . .

iClips is a familiar source and as you can see they're off to a good start this festival season.

Broadcast schedules aren't posted yet but the individual festival info can be accessed from this page

btw, I did put the info in the Hangout and Mountain Jam threads too.

Wow- no one replied for four weeks and I log in tonight and find my post got sticky status! Thanks TFN and Nate. I'll try to keep up the original post with any updates people post on this thread. I have been in heavy Pearl Jam, MMJ, and Roger Daltrey message boards/tour modes lately, but GPN keeps pulling me back!

    **************************************************

Upside : don't remember seeing this festival being streamed by anyone before and the lineup is "something for everyone" extensive.

Downside : NPR is doing this instead of Bonnaroo this year. Was great to have their archived audio last year.

    **************************************************

    How To Listen:
    • Listen live at NPR.org or on-the-go with the NPR Music iPhone app.
    • Listen live in Seattle at KEXP, 90.3FM or check your local public radio station.
    • Enjoy the shows again in the NPR Music archives.

" What's Sasquatch? It's a big, beautiful music festival held in Washington state on Memorial Day weekend, with a whole bunch of our favorite bands, such as Wilco, Death Cab For Cutie, The Antlers, Bright Eyes and many, many more. It all happens at the Gorge Amphitheater a few hours outside of Seattle, and NPR Music will be there to live webcast and broadcast full concerts all day and into the night, May 27 through May 30. "

I was checking to see if GPN's show at Hangout was archived yet, and it is not. But there are four other "vintage" GPN archived shows with the old line-up.

Re: Webcasts of Festivals (whether GPN is in it or not)

NEW YORK—YouTube will live stream Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits in the video site's continuing push to bring music festivals to digital screens.

The Google Inc.-owned YouTube will announce Friday that it will present online coverage of the festivals, two of the summer's largest. YouTube has previously streamed festivals such as Tennessee's Bonnaroo, San Francisco's Outside Lands and, earlier this year, Southern California's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits, both produced by C3 Presents, will be presented with extensive live concert coverage from the various festival stages. Dell and Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. will sponsor the streaming.

Chicago's Lollapalooza takes place Aug. 5-7 and will be promoted with a "Lollapalooza Week" on YouTube. Exactly which acts will be streamed is yet to be announced, but this year's top performers include Eminem, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Muse and My Morning Jacket. It's the 20th anniversary for the Perry Farrell-founded event, which began as a touring festival.

"For those of us who can't make it -- we have YouTube," said Farrell in a statement. "Be a voyeur to this year's Lollapalooza. Watch as musicians offer their souls and the crowd devours them. You just may forget that you aren't really there."

Austin City Limits, which runs from Sept. 16-18 in the Texas capital, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Its acts include Kanye West, Stevie Wonder, Arcade Fire, Coldplay and My Morning Jacket.

    ==============

I will add that when YouTube streamed MMJ's Louisville concert in May, there did not seem to be a way to run it through your Blu-ray player, even if it it played YouTube videos.

IClips has posted their Kanrocksas broadcast schedule . . http://www.iclips.net/watch/kanrocksas-broadcast-2011

Unless the TBA is GPN - they are playing Saturday - I'm pretty sure this will be the first time GPN has been at a festival iClips covered and not been on the schedule.

excuse me, but, what the *uck iClips ?
