Wow! Amazing photos!!!![]()
Excellent photos - really enjoy seeing these great photos here, especially at shows I can't get too! Thank you! Also liked your write up - I copied a paragraph here because I think alot of people might relate - I know I do. I remember hearing a clip for Only Love from the CD and wasn't overly impressed - then I saw and heard it performed live at Port City Music Hall just a couple weeks ago. This song is a new favorite - the energy and freedom and fun these guys bring to this song as a live performance is just so dynamic, you cannot help but want to dance and groove to it. Is it thought a thought provoking change your life kind of song - nah - but it is pure joy to experience!
Except from moemoe's review of the Lancaster show 6/6/10:
"While Grace’s CD’s are great listening, her live performances shadow them by far in my opinion. Her pitch perfect bluesy voice really comes to life and her band, the Nocturnals, have a lot more room to improvise and jam off one another. Songs like “Only Love” transform from a pop song into a rock song with a lot of emotion when played live. Grace and the band let it all out on the stage, night after night which means lots of guitar solos, lots of rocking, and of course Grace tearing up the vocals. Last year, the Nocturnals replaced their bassist with Catherine Popper (formerly of Ryan Adams and the Cardinals) which added an opportunity for Grace to write in some fantastic harmonies.
This band really blossoms on the stage, go see them live when they are in your area and you will see what I mean."

Glad you guys like them! I was on the GP Army board before, but I take it this board replaced it?
But yes, these new songs are FIRE live even though some of them are like ice for me on CD. I REALLY REALLY love the nice harmonies the bass player adds to the music. It lifts some of the songs into a third dimension for me.
Love the pictures and a great write up. AWESOME
