I saw Alabama Shakes support Neil Young. Very talented and entertaining, but I am not sure I would want to watch a full two hour headlining show. But I also suppose that GPN can't give a fair impression in those 1/2 hour samples at the Chesney/McGraw tour either A.S. are headlining a sold out Boulder show tonight. I also see that they have upcoming dates in Europe and Australia. Clearly they have a lot of momentum.
This post about Alabama Shakes from another board will make your blood boil-
FWIW, the combo of adequate but unimpressive band and top notch frontwoman/vocalist reminded me a lot of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.
Saw Brittany and her very fine band twice in April at back to back headlining shows in Burlington and then Boston.
Loved every second of both shows.
Had planned to catch half of their main stage set at Newport Folk Fest, but got dropped in my tracks by HoneyHoney as we walked by their stage and barely made it to 2nd half of Deer Tick's set (who I hadn't seen live before).
Probly should just leave this alone but ... umm, so why post it here ? and w/o a link ? #justcurious
And it doesn't incite me to riot .. I don't expect everyone to hear what I hear in a band or an individual artist .. so I don't expect everyone to like everything I like. Think it would be pretty boring music world if they did too.![]()

TFN- no link because it was on the Relayers board, which is private. I'll admit it was probably posted to get my goat. IMO a bit of jealously from a Melissa Etheridge fan.
I think Scott is among the best guitarists in rock, but you never see his name on any great guitarist lists. Same with Mike McCready. Hard to show your own light when the front man/woman casts such a bright presence. I guess that's why there are side projects like Blues & Lasers.
Anyway, one not quite on point response to her post was that Cat was pretty good at Jack White's (extremely loud) show the other night.

Link says it all. Live performance this weekend. Midnight Saturday.
A show was just announced for The Capitol in Port Chester NY and I was already closed out of the fan presale! Hope we manage to get there, I have wanted to see them for some time now!
