Watching it right now, this has the potenial to be a train wreck or not.
I logged off a while to eat dinner, logged back in to see GPN ... They are WAY behind schedule! Did the bus get lost? LOL. I think it is headed towards Train Wreck! LOL But wherever Grace and the guys are playing tonight, I would love to be there because I assume they will keep playing until Flaming Lips arrive.
GPN LIVE NOW ON Channel 2!
Fast Eddie - she is playing your song right now! http://www.omusicawards.com/ Channel 2
Fantastic set, don't they always bring it in any situation, too bad they couldn't play until Wayne and guys showed up but I think the roady's need time to set up.
No train wreck for GPN they are beyond that, meant the show in general.

LOL Yes, Train Wreck. GPN is finished with the show and Flaming Lips are still on the road to the show. They are now dialing people who are tweeting their phone numbers. LOL

I can't even attempt to explain the scene on the bus - one of those ya gotta be there - or in this case ya gotta be watching the webcast - but as I'm typing this they're talking about vaseline and Freebird is playing in the background ......
and now I'm turning into a pumpkin ...

I cannot believe this! Its 3:00 AM CST. Grace IS A MACHINE on That bus, and is IN control...
Just a small taste of the bus ride from Oxford to Jackson Ms.
did you really pull the all nighter?![]()
That was so much fun last night ... great show and then The Bus !
I have no idea what time I shut down the stream ... twitter says my last tweet to someone about Jackson Browne being on with Wayne/TFL this morning was 10hrs ago .. but I had dozed off for a while after Grace said there had been a screw up with the Nocs joining them on the bus. Thank gawd for caffeine and a flexible schedule - lol

The Flaming Lips have officially tied the previous Guinness World Record of 7 shows / 7 cities/ 24 hrs
now the bus is on it's way to New Orleans to break the record![]()

I went right to bed after GPN and TFL were done. I'd been watching since 8:00 and was just too tired to stay up past 1am, especially considering I had to be up and awake a few hours later... So I missed the bus antics. Silly me.
They Did It
Guinness representatives have made it official . . . The Flaming Lips hold the new World Record for most shows in different cities in 24 hours.
8 shows (minimum of 15min each) .. 8 cities .. and they came in under the 24hrs.
This was fun.![]()

Yes they did! FYI if anyone who missed the show or wants to see it again go to the site click in channel 2-performances and go to the time bar below, GPN comes on about the 3:05 mark, rewatching it right now! getting the part I missed.
This show should be one of the great GPN recorded shows, great camera work, great sound/voice capture/mixing, a bunch of real pros on the crew considering this is a fly by the seat of your pants concept. Maybe we should start a thread on the great recorded GPN shows, Bonaroo 2009 in the tent has to be the best for me. Belle Chere(?) 2009 was good too. I mean WTH they're all good, some are just better than others.

Another Gem from the Bus.

It was done and we made it from all over it seems with them. I have not been up that long for fun or by choice for years. As the country song says, I'm not as good as I was once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was.
Now if I can keep remembering it was worth it while I take small family members and a sister to the Atlanta Aquarium in 9 hours. Recuperation time seems slower than it used to be. Thanks again to all who shared all info and made it a family feel.
