    Dylan touring with Knopfler

I see that Bob Dylan and his Band is appearing with Mark Knopfler at First Bank Center on October 29 &30 but other Dylan shows on Pollstar don't show Knopler, nor do they go out to October, so I don't have further details yet.

    This would be excellent.

Now I am seeing an article they are touring Europe together and the dates don't jive with the First Bank posting on Ticket Horse.

Jeepers now Pollstar just put up the whole US tour for Dylan & Knopfler, which contradicts the earlier link I posted.

    Re: Dylan touring with Knopfler

This show was decent last night. Sort of a pastoral feel to both acts.

Mark Knopfler has a new double album which is not being distributed in USA due to a legal dispute. I was able to get it through his website. It is very laid back music. He chose to play mostly this new stuff which most everyone had not heard. Hardly any classic hits from him, but the band was a good groove.

Dylan on the other hand, also has a new album with decent reviews but hasn't played anything from it this tour. So we get some classics. However his raspy voice is worse than ever. My only Dylan to compare to was about ten years ago, when it was better. So the songs are

"Raspy croak, raspy croak, raspy croak It's all over baby blue"
"Croak, croak, rasp, rasp, tangled up in blue"
    "Rasp Rasp Highway 61!"

You get the gist. And he rearranged some of them so much it was hard to tell what song it was until the chorus. Like Knopfler, Dylan had a very good band. There were some redeeming long instrumental jams. All Along the Watchtower was my favorite.

I was disappointed K & D did not collaborate during the show.

I had promised to take my college age son to see Bob one day, so it was a check off from the bucket list, but age has caught up with Bob's vocals I am afraid.
