Central VT road-trip for a day

Looking for ideas, suggestions & recommendations for a day-long lazy roadtrip thru Central VT. We're heading up to Lebanon NH on Friday (to see Southside Johnny & The Jukes) & staying in W. Lebanon. Leaving W. Lebanon NH on Saturday morning, probably heading first to King Arthur Flour in Norwich VT.

From there, was thinking of back-roads up to Northfield and then over to Waitsfield (gotta make the pilgrimage there!), and then heading south to Killington, where we are staying for the night. And, yes, I'm well aware of the fact that our girl Grace and the Nocs are playing a mere 9 miles from my home on Friday & Saturday at Gillette Stadium. 3.5 hours of Springsteen is one thing. 30 minutes of Grace at 6pm is another. I'll wait until NOV/DEC to see them.

If anybody has recommendations for places to visit between Lebanon, Northfield, Waitsfield & Killington, I'm all ears...er...eyes! Food, drink, antiques, farms, cheese shops, anything of interest along the way.

We're also hitting Woodstock on Sunday morning on the way home (brunch at Bentley's - yum!).

Here's my proposed route. Avoiding highways. Not sure if I should go up Rte 14 thru East Bethel & East Brookfield, or go over to Rte 12 and head up north via Bethel & Randolph.

    Many thanks,

    JJ
(and I finally get to meet Nancy on Friday, after missing her at 3 Springsteen shows last week!)

    Hello!
Head into Randolph and over to 12A. Take the Warren Mountain Road in Roxbury, some call it Roxbury Mountain Road, on the Warren side.
Stop at the top and enjoy the view of the Mad River Valley ... stop at the East Warren Community Market for great cheese and more. Turn left into Warren Village, poke your head in at the Warren Store. Take Route 100 north to Waitsfield. On the north end of the village, stop and visit Bridge Street. It has really come alive after Irene. Then you can head south on 100 to Killington, many neat shops in the villages along the way - you will also see quite a bit of the wrath of Irene Enjoy the trip!

Thanks KC, but we'll be in Killington by dinner-time. :-( Will put it on the must-visit list for future reference (after I create said list).

    Killington picks:
If you want the full monty 4 star dinner: Hemingways!!! Probably the best restaurant in Vermont. http://www.hemingwaysrestaurant.com/
Bang for your buck, huge plates and great salad bar: The Wobbly Barn! http://www.wobblybarn.net/site/index.html
Right in the middle: Casey's Caboose! http://www.killingtonsbest.com/caseys/caseys.html

    Safe travels, have a blast!

Thanks for the Killington dining recs. We ended up craving pizza and walked up Killington Rd to Domenic's. Great little spot, enjoyed it very much.

Back home in suburban Boston now, rejoicing in the news of the House Of Blues shows in a couple months. :-)
