here are 2 Puss n Boots shows from this past April on mp3. they sound pretty good considering its the audio ripped from my flip cam. the mp3s should load into i-tunes/i-pods in order even if u DL the songs randomly. im kinda new to mega upload and just figuring it out...sorry u have to wait for the free DL and click on each song but they're short so they DL quick.
any issues let me know.
Puss n Boots is: Norah Jones, Sasha Dobson, and Catherine Popper

I haven't listened to much of it yet, but the audio quality is good in what I have- and your videos usually do have good audio. Thanks for this, eric.

Couple of things had run across in past and miraculously remembered . . I should note that the info stems from a post by KCortez quite a while ago - don't remember if was here or on TIS
A more recent Wilco Jesus, Etc. cover just for fun - Rockwood Music Hall, NYC 04-17-11 . . . uploaded by tahcofan who I think posts here ?
Wilco connection mention in 2009 piece on the Brooklyn Vegan blog . .
Puss n Boots (with Norah Jones) playing Mercury Lounge (w/ a Wilco member), Rockwood Music Hall & w/ Levon Helm
Wilco member is Mikael Jorgensen ... (sidenote: they interact occasionally on Twitter)

A Valentines Day Ramble ~ February 14, 2009
With guests, Puss N Boots featuring Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Norah Jones
ETA: forgot another vid I had stashed . . even found the article it came from too
The article is about a show at Rockwood Music Hall in 2008 when they (Norah, Cat, Sasha) performed as "Dixie Fried" . . and includes this . .
Here is a clip of Dixie Fried's first time performance back on May 12, 2008 at Shayni Rae's Truckstop, which takes over the National Underground (159 E. Houston between Allen & Eldridge, NYC) every Monday night for a hang with some great music (video courtesy of Shayni Rae's Truckstop).

yes that's my Jesus Etc. video. if u just click on that playlist youll see them all from this past spring.
and Puss n Boots has several alternate band names. all of them share one thing in common- if u google any of the band names, it would take a while before this band shows up in the search engine, if at all.
they have played at a ton of venues in New York, they are all tiny. Rockwood, the Rodeo Bar, the Living Room (some of that is bonus tracks on Norah's itunes album "The Fall-Live at the Living Room"), Pete's Candy Store and many others im sure.
The National Underground is one of the worst venues in the city, on several levels. its just a tiny bar but there are other issues. cant even compare a place like that to the Living Room or Rockwood. they also advertise free shows, then charge a cover, and dont give the band any money. not sayin they did that to Norah but they did it to my friends. and the place is a shit box. just sayin.
Cat and Norah have both played with more musicians than u could ever find out about online, both together and independent of each other.
Puss n Boots is having a Christmas party monday night in Brooklyn. in addition to their classic set of country covers and a few originals, they will be playing Christmas songs just for this show, there will be special musical guests, and at least one stand up comedian. come check it out if u can. you will be happy u did. naughty-listers are both welcome and encouraged to attend

Hmmmm. Might have to check this one out.
Go Michael GO - I would if I could - sounds like it would be a blast!
well the party was quite a success to say the very least. i dont think any review could attempt to describe what went on between the jokes and the dancers/strippers and everything else but this guy did a decent job of summing it up and took some great pics (no doubt he left out a ton of details)-

one of the coolest things for me at the show, not to be a complete dork, was when after they played "Jesus, Etc" Cat started to tell the story of how they were backstage at the Neil Young/Wilco concert at Madison Square Garden (2008) and Jeff Tweedy asked the girls if they wanted to come out and sing back-up vocals for "Jesus, Etc" during their opening set. Then Norah explained that is when Jeff Tweedy named their band by instinctively/jokingly/on the spot introducing them to the audience at MSG by saying "this is Puss n Boots" and so thats how they got their name. Then Cat added "Neil Young said we should name the band Daughters of the Confederate" and Norah and Sasha looked at her like she was crazy (as if...) and both corrected her "um Cat he said Daughters of the Revolution, not Confederate" it was pretty hilarious. They also said something about having another crazy show like that on Valentine's Day which I am scared to think how they might try to top this one, but im sure they are very capable of it![]()
happy holidays everyone.
