Can anyone suggest some good music venues in the Denver/Boulder area? I'll be out there on business at the end of this month and would like to check the local venue schedules to see if there are any shows worth checking out while I'm there. I know about the Ogden. Others?
You can try the Bluebird and the Fillmore in Denver - Boulder Theater and Fox Theater in Boulder - I did see this at the Fillmore on the 19th:

Thanks, Jan! All great looking venues. Just checked them all and sadly there's nothing that looks too exciting during the time that I'll be there. Been wanting to see Galactic but that's a few days too soon. Hopefully there are some smaller local music clubs I can wander into out there ... if anyone knows of any place to hear local musicians in that area, would love some recommendations for that as well. Anything to get out of the convention center.

Trish depending on when u r out there u might catch the final show ever for the Dyrty Byrds who are led by Eric Martinez and Sam Holt. That would be sik if u hit that! I think the last show is at a bar/venue called Quixote's which is in Denver near the Fillmore (a much bigger venue u should also look into as snowbird suggested). hit up Eric Martinez or the Dyrty Byrds on FB for all the facts. They might be playing at Cervantes Ballroom or Cervates Other side.
Also check the KBCO FB page and see what events they have. The Gothic Theater in Denver is another venue to look into (about the size of the Ogden).
Also the Fox Theater in Boulder is epicly tiny and intimate. If u are right there in boulder and even remotely interested in someone that is playing there- don't hesitate, just go.

Thanks for all the great suggestions! Finally had time to research these and sadly it apears that I'll be traveling around just enough to be either a few days ahead of or behind any opportunity to see any of these shows. Took a good listen to Ruthie Foster on her web site and am glad she's now on my radar - will be looking to see her next time she comes to any venues in my home area.

Been traveling so sorry I didn't see this thread. All the responses covered it pretty well, plus I would throw in the Paramount, Larimer Lounge, First Bank Center in Broomfield and Soiled Dove.
