Anyone know where I might pick up a new copy of Grace's first CD, "Original Soul"?? A record shop in Vermont somewhere (those of you from that area might know that)??? Thanks for any leads you can give me!! Dave

Please don't post the same question in three separate places.
You can find copies of original soul on ebay if you're desparate.. but its better if you can buy from a record store so the band gets their well deserved royalties.
Actually, I take that back. There aren't any on ebay right now, but I've seen them come up from time to time, as well as some older posters. I have long looked for their first live CD which I have not ever seen a copy of, and I've been looking for almost 4 years.
I remember when it was still on cdbaby. I wonder why NBTW is still there and OS is not.
Oh, that was tremendous! -Letterman
i got an Original Soul cd on this website during the summer of 2010 at some point. just a guess but i think they make more and sell them out immediately. im really not sure i guess there is a slight chance its just not available for now.
the live cd Jackie refers to is looong gone, ive def never seen one. there is a live show where Grace is playing "Come On Into My Kitchen" and talks about the live cd and Gregg Allman's version they covered on the cd. funny, i bet if i looked hard enuff, one of my friends has that cd. probably more than one friend. someone just the other day was telling me theyve seen GPN probably 20 times, but not once since 06 or 07. he had some great stories no doubt. of course i told him he has to come out to a current GPN show, and see the evolution baby. to which he agreed.
Original Soul is a true "Indie" album. Mine says "2004 Grace Potter Music." that is the "record label." i think i got essentially one of the last of these, and it has probably not been back in stock since they sold the last one...either the night of the VH1 Diva show or shortly before that.
NBTW was the first album done under Ragged Company/Hollywood Records. there were many more cds fabricated in the first place for that one, and the current label can keep making more if they run out.
Original Soul might have to be "re-released" by RC/Hollywood at some point, im not sure what that involves...and if so maybe a bonus CD or bonus trax would be the old school live CD?
Thanks Jackie for your replies-I appreciate that!! Dave
does it really bother you that much? Love thy Neighbor!
Original Soul and Live Oh Five are out of print. If you can find a copy second hand that's all that's available.
So it's goodbye to the sunshine, goodbye to the dew, goodbye to the flowers and goodbye to you. I'm off to the subway, I must not be late, I'm going to work in tall buildings.
I went digging around a bit - can't resist a challenge. No 'OS' but found a Vermont artists compilation, which has "Mr. Columbus" on it. Searched "Grace Potter" at the site to find it:
CD749 Various, "Thrufters & Throughstones: The Music of Vermont's First 400 Years"
Has Anais Mitchell and Phish and 29 others (2 CDs).

Thank you Karen-I appreciate the effort. And I know what you mean about a challenge-this is a tuffy, but I'm not giving up. Hopefully one will show up on one of the commercial websites. I'll check out the compilation you found. Best, Dave
Nate the great settin us straight! always in the know, i like it.
ill keep an eye out for the 2 uber rare early cds amongst my travels.
ill also add there is a Japanese version of This Is Somewhere that has the studio version of Over Again and Belladona. that should still be available, i ordered one from Japan last summer, and i dont think any websites are crashing over fans going all in for that one. (of course ordering anything from Japan right now is questionable) also that electric version of Aint No Time and the Mr Columbus are sik. i like to listen to This Is Somewhere when im skiing mind-bending terrain like Brekenridge or A-Basin (aka "Gracin at the Basin" when most others are simply "spacin at the Basin") sounds crazy...but hey, someone has got to do it.
